Combine like terms and use the properties of equality to get the variable on one side of the equal sign and the numbers on the other side. Remember to the following the order of operations.
3x + 10 = 19
Subtract 10 from both side of the equations:
3x = 9
Divide both side of equation by 3:
x = 3

First of all you can see that a number plus 10=19. Next, what number times three +10=19......3x3=9......9+10=19.........x=3.

3x = 19 - 10
3x = 9
3x/3 = 9/3

x = 3

Doctor Bob
3x + 10 = 19 solve for x

you need to get any unknowns on one side (preferably the left side) and knowns on the other side of the equal sign. Any value that crosses the equal sign, CHANGES its sign. And so:

3x = 19 - 10
3x = 9
to get the x alone, you divide both sides by 3, and so
x = 3
PLUG IN THE 3 TO BE SURE IT WORKS. 3(3) + 10 = 19 IT WORKS- VOILA!

Subtract 10 from both sides ( 3x = 9), now divide both sides by 3 (x=3). So, x=3 is the solution.

Remember this: you have to get x by itself on the left; so you have to clean the left side step-by-step. The first thing you can get rid of is 10 and you would get rid of 10 by subtracting it on both sides and then you get rid of 3 by dividing both sides by it.

First, you need to balance the equation by taking the +10 away from both sides, such as:

3X+10=19-10
3X=9

Build fractions on both sides of the = sign. Use 3 as your denominator because you need to divide 3 into both sides to solve for X, right?

Therefore, X = 3

Here is the solution step by step -

3x + 10 = 19
=> 3x = 19 -10
=> 3x = 9
=> x = 9/3
=> x = 3

Enjoy !!! [;-)]
