Adding fiber to the diet usually calls for eating fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. Instead of drinking fruit juices eat the fresh fruits..apples, oranges, mangoes, pineapples bananas, tangerines, blackberries, grapes and other fresh fruits. If you have heard that "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", you have heard correctly. Some valuable whole grains include whole wheat, oatmeal, (steel cut oats are the best). Choose whole wheat breads instead of white bread. Some breads have nuts and oatmeal. These are a good choice to add fiber to the diet. If you like pasta, you can also always choose whole wheat pastas. Yams are also a high fiber food. They also provide a valuable mineral...iron. If you had only yams to eat, you would do well as the nutritional content is superior. When you add nuts to your diet you are also adding fiber. Choose macadamia nuts, walnuts, almonds, peanuts, and other nuts. Peanut butter is also nutritional. However, you can get peanut butter that is natural or organic or those that are full of sugar and other additives. Choose the healthier organic variety. Sunflower seeds, and flax seeds are also good additions. Black beans are high in fiber. Green leafy vegetables...spinach, turnip greens, leaf lettuce, broccoli, and other greens are high in fiber. I hope this information proves to be valuable for you.

There are a few easy ways to get more fiber - one is eating whole grains, such as wheats and oats. Another would be to take in more vegetables and fruits, preferably raw, as the enzymes have not been killed through the heating process. Third, there are many products on the market which contain sylium husk and like ingredients, which provide roughage and help your body detox, an important component to fiber.

Try eating a spoonful of flax seeds, you can add it to your food, it has no taste, just sprinkle it on and eat. it is enough fiber as a couple of servings of fruit.

First of all, never eat at a fast food place. Eat food as close to its natural state as possible. Stay away from processed foods, and eat natural grains: rice in many forms, whole wheat breads, etc.; raw vegetables are an excellent source of fiber in the diet. It is simple to eat simply, but most Americans are hooked to fast food which is an invitation to obesity, constipation, and colon cancer. Eat meat in moderation, or not at all.
Keep diet simple; it is as simple as that.

Fiber falls under two catagories: There is soluble fiber and non-soluble fiber. Both types of fiber are essential to remove excess toxins from the body via the small and large intestines. You generally obtain fiber from vegetables, fruit, nuts and ligumes. It is essential that you consume enough fiber daily in order to detoxify your organ systems and in particular, your liver which one of its functions is to detoxify many ingested toxins. Fiber is also important for being regular and maintain a regular transit time for passing waste out of your body every 12 to 18 hours. Fiber also aids to remove many heavy metals from deep tissue such as embended mercury, cadmium, chromium and lead to name a few.
