How does the square of numbers relate to the product of numbers?

When you are squaring a number you multiply the number by itself.....9X9=81. 81 is the product of the numbers. The product is always the number that you get when you multiply. 10X2=20. 20 is the product. 6X9=54. 54 is the product. 2X2=4. You have squared the number 2. 4 is the product.

When using the term "squared ^2", you're asking x*x. 3^2=9. When using the term "cubed ^3", you're asking x*x*x. Next there's 4th power ^4; 5th power ^5.....
