Rotating tires during a trip

If I go on a 4600 miles trip, and rotate tires using my spare tire such that at the end of my trip all five tires use the same number of miles, what will be the miles for each tire?

Let x = mileage on each tire.
Since 5 tires have same mileage, total on 5 tires will be 5x.
Without spare tire, total on 4 tires would have been: (4)(4600) = 18,400 miles
This total mileage belongs to 5 tires too,
So: 5x = 18,400 or x = 3,680 miles<=== Answer

Doctor Bob
Raj,
It is easy to tell a tutor she is wrong but what contriubtion have YOU made to the question? Tutors like to be met half-way in dialogue, not treated as answering machines.

Are these honestly questions you have or are you just plying us with riddles to amuse yourself?
Either way, I like a good brain teaser.

I'm not sure if I needed to go to the trouble I did to reach the right answer but this is what I did
to come up with 3,680 miles for each tire:

Let the 5 tires be a,b,c,d,e where e is the spare.
I divided the trip into 5 segments of 920 miles each. At the end of each segment, I switched a tire.

During the first 920 miles tires a,b,c,d are on the car.
At the first stop, a, b, c, d have 920 miles on them and e has 0.
I switch out tire a for tire e.

During the second 920 mile segment, tires b,c,d,e are on the car.
At the second stop, b,c,d have 1840 miles on them, a and e have 920 miles.
I switch out tire b for tire a.

During the third 920 mile segment, tires a,c,d,e are on the car.
At the third stop, c and d have 2760 miles on them, a,b,e have 1840 miles.
I switch out tire c for tire b.

During the fourth 920 mile segment, tires a,b,d,e are on the car.
At the fourth stop, d has 3680 miles on it, a,b,c,e have 2760 miles.
I switch out tire d for tire c.

During the fifth and final 920 mile segment, tires a,b,c,e are on the car.
At the final stop, a,b,c,e,d all have 3680 miles on them.

3680 is 4/5 of the total mileage of the trip so I'm guessing since there are
4 tires on the car at all times and 5 tires used on the trip, I could have
come to the right solution faster but I'm not sure how.

If you go 4600 miles and each tire has the same number of miles, you would divide the number of miles, 4600, by the 5 tires.
