If you were to write an equation for the above expressions, it would have the formal syntax of y = ax + b because they each have a percentage rage represented as the slope a and a constant (b = somerealnumber). Thus, the equation of the above expressions can be represented as follows:

100% of 13 is => n = 1.0 * 13 = 13.
4% of 45 => 0.04 * 45 = 4/100 * 45 = 2/50 * 45 = 90 / 50 = 1.8
40 = 50 * r => 40 = 50r => r = 4/5 = 0.8 * 100 = 80%
57 = .2 * n => 57 = .2r => 57 = (1/5) * r => r = 285
1.0n = 74 => n = 74 thus 100% of 74 is 74.
.7 * n = 35 => .7n = 35 => (7/10)n = 35 => n = 50
N = 0.092 * 5600 => 92/1000 * 5600 = 92(28) / 5 = 20976/5

1. 100% of 13 is the same as saying 1 x 13 = 13

2. 4% of $45 is the same as saying .04 x 45 = 1.80

3. x% of $50 = $40 is the same as saying

x x 50 = 40

x = 40/50

x = .8

x = 80%

4. 57 is 20% of what

57 = .2 x

57/.2 = x

x = 285

4. 100% x = 74

100% is the same as saying 1 so x = 74

5. 70% x = 35

.7 x = 35

x = 35/.7

x = 50

6. 9.2% of $5600

.092 x 5600 = x

x = $515.20

Now that Ken has all of the answers- without having to make any effort or contribution of his own- he will turn them into his teacher as his own work when actually somebody else spoon-fed him the answers. I don't see how such a process teaches anything but cheating.

Lets take an english exercise. Percent, broken down is "per" each; "cent" 100. So we get: "Out of 100".

1. 100/100=1, so 13*1=13.

2. 4/100=1/25, so 1/25*45=45/25=9/5=1 4/5 or 1.8.

3. 40/50=4/5=80%. In this case 5*20=100; what you do to the bottom, you've got to do to the top; so 4*20=80. I did the same thing with 40/50 (came from 80/100), by dividing both by 10.

5. 20%=20/100=1/5. So 57=1/5 of 57*5=285.

6. Like #1, 100/100=1; 1*74=74.

7. 70%=7/10=35; divide the numerator by 7, so you will get 1/10. What you do to one side, you've got to do to the other. So 35/7=5. So 1/10 or 10%=5. And 5*10=50. In other words: 70% of 50 = 35. To check; 50*.7 (7/10 or 70%) =35.

8. This time lets make 9.2% into a decimal. 9.2%=9.2/100=.092. So .092*5600=5152.

What do you know about fractions and how to convert them to decimals. I'll be glad to explain the process and you can apply it to the problems, but writing he answers will not help. But I need to know where to start. Do you know what a fraction is? Can youconvert a fraction to a decimal? Can you convert a decimal to a percent?

What have you tried already in any of these problems.?
I wish to help but I do not wish to do your work for you.
Ask specific questions about what you don't understand rather than dump a slew of problems on the tutors.
