1. 3 hamburgers in 15 minutes = 1 in 5 minutes = .2 or 20% or 1/5 in 1 minute. 5 minutes per hamburger.

2. 4200/60=420/6=70 beats per minute. (Break it down).

3. Divide: 19,913,144/2,967,893=6.709522 or 6.71/mile. Remember to divide the way you're asked.

First question: To get the rate of hamburgers per minutes divide the number of hamburgers by the time in minutes or (3 hamburgers/15 minutes) = 0.2 hamburgers per minutes.

Then to get minutes per hamburger divide the minutes by the amount of hamburgers or (15 Minutes/3 hamburgers) =5 minutes per hamburger.

The second question. To get the beats per minute divide the beats by the number of minutes or (4200 beats/60 minutes) = 70 beats per minutes. That sounds like a resting heart rate. I know when I start exercising mine is in the 80s. When I exercise it gets around 120.

Third question. To get the number of people for sqaure mile divide the number of people by the number of squre miles or (19,913,144 people)/(2,967,893 square miles) = 6.7095 people per square mile or roughly 6.71

15/3 = 5 Therefore, the student will eat one hamburger in 5 minutes.

4200/60 = 70 beats per minute.

19913144/ 2967893 = 6.71 Since you need to round up to the nearest person, you'd say 7 people per square mile.
